Whites

Hey there!  How's the week going?

One of our customers asked for a comparison of the different Bella neutrals that we carry, specifically the white and porcelain.  So I snapped a photo and thought I'd share here as well.

The snow on the far left is more ivory and yellow-based compared to the porcelain (middle), which is in between the snow (far left) and the white bleached (far right).

The porcelain goes great with a lot of the lines by Bonnie & Camille like Vintage Modern.  It's not as harsh as a bright white but is also not too "warm" either.  We always try to include the coordinating Bellas we carry along with the prints in each collection in the shop so it makes matching easy.

What's your favorite solid to use for sashing and background of blocks?

Happy Sewing! :-)

  1. Oh, that's a lovely comparison chart! I think I use a bit of snow...sometimes white. Just depends on what I'm sewing.

  2. I almost always use white, if it's not that it's porcelain!

  3. I recently bought about 16 different whites for the ModPop QAL. I was amazed at the difference. Maybe you can help me with something...I was at Hobby Lobby this past week and they had Kona White but it said PFD (I think those are the letters) on the label. What does that mean?

    1. Hi Rhonda - The PFD means "prepared for dye" so its good if you were going to hand dye it yourself!

  4. Thank you so much for posting that photograph!! I have been scouring the Internet for a decent comparison between the light neutrals. It doesn't help that the names are so confusing: bleached white isn't white and actual real life porcelain has a slightly bluish tinge to it!!! Thank you, again x
