FQ Frenzy : Craving Cupcakes & Simple Patchwork Pattern

Hey there friends!

We have another FQ Frenzy bundle to share with you this week.  AND, over the next few weeks I will be sharing a quick quilt design to show you how to whip up something pretty with just 10 fat quarters.

First, let's talk about this sweet bundle - Craving Cupcakes.

We've selected a delicious combination of pink, yellow and blue prints from Cherry on Top along with a few coordinating Bella Solids. Simply sweet!

For this week's FQ Frenzy pattern, we're sharing two ways to arrange these in "Simple Patchwork."

First, cut each of the 10 fabrics into NINE 6-inch squares using the cutting diagram below.

Then you can arrange the 90 squares in a 9 x 10 format (finished size approx 50" x 55") in either a random mix or a diagonal pattern.

Just arrange your squares and sew them in ten rows of nine blocks.  Then stitch the rows together.  Quick and easy!

Of course, this Simple Patchwork pattern can be used with any of our FQ Frenzy bundles.  How's that for an entire quilt top for just $20 bucks?!

Backing & Binding:  You'll need 1/2 yard for binding and 3 yards backing.

FQ Frenzy : Modern Marmalade

Just a quick post tonight to share some Bonnie & Camille goodness.  :-) 

Our newest FQ Frenzy bundle is called Modern Marmalade and is a mix of 10 FQs from Vintage Modern, Marmalade and Bella solids.  This bundle is specially priced at just $20 and quantities are limited.

FQ Frenzy - Short Stacks

Happy Monday!

Our FQ Bin is bursting at the seams!  So this week we decided to grab 'em and group 'em for some limited bundles at great prices - just $2 a FQ!

These bundles are one-of-a-kind .... so there's only one of each available at these prices.  Most bundles are from an entire collection, while some are mixed from a few collections.  Some include the last chance FQs as well.  See them all here.

We'll add to this new section of our shop occasionally and will update the blog when we do.

Shop Update : New Bundles

Another week brings new bundles to the shop!  This week's Curated Collection is a rainbow of Bella Solids in some of my favorite colors.

Shop Update : New Bundles

A quick shop update and then tomorrow its all about the BOM!

We have two new bundles this week ... our FQ Frenzy is called "Pretty in Peony."

This bundle was largely inspired by the Real Simple May 2013 Magazine Cover.

I will take one of those vases of pretties any day!  :-)

Then our newest Curated Collection is called "Beach Therapy."  Our family used to rent a house in Rodanthe, on the Outer Banks of NC, and for several years we stayed at a house called "Beach Therapy."  We enjoyed many laughs and nice relaxing hours on the decks watching the waves.

Shop Updates : Bundles & Precuts

A few shop updates for you ...

This week we have a brand new Fat Quarter Frenzy bundle.  (These are limited quantity at a special price of $20 for 10 FQs). This week's bundle is called "Denim & Daisies" and has lots of great blue and mustard prints from PB&J as well as a few from 2wenty Thr3e, Comma and Bella solids.

We also have a new Curated Collection this week featuring prints and coordinating solids from the brand new Boho line by Urban Chiks.  This one is called "Boho Sweet."

The Boho yardage is also now available.

In addition, we have some new precuts - more Happy-Go-Lucky honey combs as well as other cuts are arriving today.  And believe it or not - Aspen Frost, Basic Grey's new holiday collection, is now available in precuts as well.  :-)

Comma by Zen Chic came in and I was taken with the slate and mustard colorway.  So taken, that we cut a limited number of bundles for this week's FQ Frenzy!

It's the Oscars tonight!  Beautiful dresses, tailored tuxedos and red carpets.

FQ Frenzy : Country Living

Ever since I got the current edition of Country Living in the mail, I've been obsessed with the cover image.  I love the colors, the oversized Home Sweet Home sampler ... pretty much all of it!  So much so, that I used it as inspiration for this week's FQ Frenzy Bundle ...

FQ Frenzy : Turqs & Tangos

Hey y'all!  Are you watching the Super Bowl?  I thought I'd take a minute while the power was out in the Dome to post this week's FQ Frenzy bundle.  I am really excited about how this one turned out.

Meet Turqs & Tangos ...

It's heavy on the Denyse Schmidt - Flea Market Fancy and Chicopee with some light grays thrown in.  We've run out of one of the Chicopee prints, so once these bundles are gone they're all gone.

FQ Frenzy : Farm Fresh

Hope you've all been having a great weekend!  We started out with a minor winter storm here on Friday which left us with some ice ... and the best part for me was a 4-hour early release from school!  (I might have been more excited than my students.  :-)  I did get some sewing done and will have a new tutorial here on the blog later this week.

I did get to spend some time over in the shop this afternoon choosing some new Curated Collections (which will be revealed on Friday) that I am pretty excited about as well as this week's Fat Quarter Frenzy bundle.

The FQ Frenzy bundles are similar to the Curated Collections, but have 10 FQs for $20.  These are limited edition - we'll precut a handful and that's it!

This week's FQ Frenzy Bundle is called "Farm Fresh" and these colors totally make me think farmer's market.  Farm Fresh is available here while supplies last.

Better go get a few more things done around here before Downton!

Introducing : FQ Frenzy Series

Hey friends!

I have had so much fun playing with the Curated Collections over the past few months.  I love stacking and unstacking the bolts in the shop until I get just the right combination.  :-) This week, we're introducing a new weekly bundle series - the FQ Frenzy Series.

This series is similar to the monthly Curated Collections, except these bundles will have 10 FQs (usually mixed from several collections along with a few solids) and will be specially priced at $20 (20% off our regular price).  We'll offer a new bundle each week and we'll only be cutting a few, so once they sell out they're gone!  The new bundle for the week will be introduced each Monday.

Our first one, is called "Time for Tea" and this one is soooo up my alley - pink, green and aqua.  My favorite color combination.
