Stitch & Share Challenge: Texture

Hey there!  Today I'm putting up the linky post for our next Stitch & Share Challenge.  This month's challenge is all about TEXTURE and I can't wait to see your projects!

The Sew Lux Stitch & Share Challenge

• Every other month or so, we will post a challenge theme.  This may be a technique that should be used or a concept to base your project around.  You'll have 3 weeks to link up a project.
• If a technique is to be used in your project, we'll share a step-by-step tutorial to show you what to do just in case the technique is new to you.
• On the challenge announcement post, we'll put up a a linky for you to add your projects to (see below).  When you have a project ready, share on your blog about what you made and add your post to the linky.  If you don't have a blog, you can link to a Flickr photo.  This will make it easy for us to check out everyone's projects!  (A Few Rules: Make sure your project and your post is specific to this challenge and is not a giveaway/promotional post.  Please link back to this challenge post as well and visit the other participants' project posts.)  Limit two entries per person.

·       At the end of each challenge, we'll select a random winner from participants who link up their project to win a $20 gift certificate to sewluxfabric.com.  You must link your project by the last day of the challenge to be entered for the random winner drawing.

For this month's challenge, its all about projects using TEXTURE!  This could mean all sorts of things ... ruffles, pleats, more pleats, buttons, and more!  Please note that just the use of flannel or a fabric other than cotton doesn't qualify ... its about techniques to create texture.

Holiday Sewing ...

Hiya!  I can't believe its nearly December already ... it is SO time to buckle down on all my holiday sewing. What is on your holiday sewing list?  :)

Speaking of which, I made another stocking this weekend.  I used my previous pattern and tutorial, but changed the spiral a little.  And I used fabrics from Ruby as well as a print from Bliss.

I also added some grosgrain and mini ric rac stripes for a little something extra. I think I like it. :-)

I made a small change in the hanging loop ... I put it in the lining.  I had to tack the lining down with a few stitches on the back but you can hardly see it since I matched the thread well. 

Have you made any stockings yet?  I'd love it if you'd share them in this month's Sew Lux Stitch & Share Challenge.  :-)  The entry window for the giveaway ends on Wednesday, Nov 30th.

I also plan on making some more of these little moleskin covers with the Keyka Lou Swatch Book pattern.

A Winner and a Stocking Start

Happy Weekend!  I am excited to get to spend most of this weekend in my sewing room.  The mister and I traveled to a college ball game last weekend so its been awhile since I got a chance to make a big(ger) mess in my sewing room!  ;-)

Lovin it

Hi everyone!  I hope your week has ended well and that you're ready for one more hot July weekend!  :-)  (Personally, I am soooo over the triple digit heat!)

I had planned to share a needle book project with you tonight, but am having some issues with connecting my laptop a network while traveling this weekend.  Hopefully, I will get that worked out tomorrow and be able to get the pictures ready to share with you.
