Happy Saturday, y'all! Today my husband and I celebrate 5 years of marriage and I am happy to say that I am finally finished with his FSU quilt just in time! He's patiently (mostly) waited while I made other projects and quilts and I finally decided to just finish it up this week ...
I cleared the dining room floor area so I could baste it. Lots of pins, a couple hours, 3 bobbins and two needles later I finished the quilting.
Its about 64 x 74 and I was nervous about quilting it on my little Bernina. But I decided to free motion in columns and started the the center column and then working my way out. This was definitely a better plan of attack than starting at a corner or side and going for it willy nilly.
Here's the mister holding it up. For reference, he's 6'4" and this was definitely one of the largest quilts I've quilted myself. Hooray for not being so scared to do some larger quilts now. :-)
I quilted a little message in the bottom corner. It reads "Love you 2012" if you can't see it well. :-)
And I was VERY thankful for the wonderful product known as the "Shout Color Catcher" when I threw this in the washing machine and the water turned pink ...
Those Color Catchers started off white. Of course, I washed this by itself as well.
That's all for now! I will be back tomorrow to issue a new "Sew Lux Stitch & Share Challenge" and I hope you'll try out something new and share with us.
Happy Sewing! :-)
What a success!!! I couldn't live without my Color Catchers!
